When I was first asked to run for Yuba Community College District Trustee in 2024, I had no idea where to begin. Like many of you, I had little experience in public office, and the process felt intimidating. But I took it one step at a time—first by registering as a candidate, then setting up a website, attending local events, and eventually starting my campaign in earnest. With the help of many supportive friends and community members, I learned the ropes and was fortunate enough to win my election. Now, I have the privilege of serving in a role where I can directly impact education in our community.
